In somebody else's tongue.
You'd think Esperanto's different,
But that is where you'd be wrong.
Just look at this pack of pronouns
Right here on this written list.
You'd think that they all make sense but
There's one that you might have missed.

When we're conversin' in the third person
Reflexively!
If you must say "he loves himself"
Take down the word "sin" from the shelf
"Li amas sin" is what you must mean
When using the "si".

If he loved another man, well...
That would be "li amas lin"
But when it's himself, it changes
From "lin" to the pronoun "sin".
The same thing alplies to words like
She, her, it, themselves and they.
When talking about oneself, you
Stick "sin" in there all the way.

Don't even lose it.
You can't just use it
Optionally.

When a girl gives herself a toy...
"Ŝi donas ĝin al si", me boy!
Life is much clearer
As an adherer
To the word "si"!

One little quirk though,
It doesn't quite work though
With "mi", "ni" or "vi".
So when "li amas sian domon"...
"Mi amas mian propran pomon".
Don't ever slow down
The use of this pronoun:

One thing to avoid or they'll be annoyed
A part of the phrase that can't be employed
Is as the subject, so in retrospect
A subject "si" must go!
"Li kaj lia frat’" is how it is taught
You don't put a "si" in the subject spot.
If you follow that, you know where it's at,
And that's how pronouns flow!

It can reflect a single subject so opportunely!
Why wonder who the speaker meant
When this one word can show intent?
No more confusion with this inclusion:
Wonderful Si!
You'll make an "impreso" at your next "kongreso"
Whith the word "si"!
Yes, you can really use it with "ili"
That's why it's utile. Resistance is futile!
